John Baldwin

John Baldwin is a GRAMMY-nominated mastering engineer based in Nashville, TN.

Originally from Maryland, John moved to Tennessee in 1999 to study audio engineering at Middle Tennessee State University and promptly started recording all of his friends' albums in his dorm room. A 2002 internship with Denny Purcell at Georgetown Masters led to a position as mastering engineer under Andrew Mendelson. In 2010 John launched John Baldwin Mastering out of a studio he built in his house, eventually moving to Historic RCA Studio A.

John joined the Infrasonic Mastering roster in 2021, bringing a wide spectrum of genres and skills, including restoring and remastering from vinyl and tape. His discography includes artists such as Nancy Sinatra, Deer Tick, Emmylou Harris, T. Hardy Morris, Langhorne Slim, The Jesus Lizard, Sly Stone, The Stone Roses, Margo Price, Delta Spirit, Willie Nelson, Vanessa Carlton, and many others.
